Custodian model configuration
The configuration of the Custodian model in Nexus has roughly the same options available for the Broker model. This section will guide you through the initial configuration.
Basic configuration
The initial definition of the Settings is part of the onboarding process, with Quantoz consultants supporting your administrators to find the optimal configuration to suit your needs. The behavior and functionality of the Nexus application is configured in the Settings tab (see image below).
The following sections will dig deeper into each tab and explain the potential configurations.
WARNING
Only administrators or specific technical users in your organization should be able to update the configuration parameters.
Settings
The Settings tab show general settings affecting the behavior of the application. The majority of these preferences should be changed during this initial onboarding and will rarely need to change at a later stage. In addition, some options are (semi)static and only managed by Quantoz (the available fiat currencies in the system as an example).
To change the options available in this view click on the Edit button found on the header of the Settings page.
Contact
This view contains the details of the person in your organization that will be assigned as main contact with Nexus support. In addition, more advanced options such as the definition of e-mail addresses to receive technical/operational alerts or daily performance reports are available.
To change the options available in this view click on the Edit button found on the header of the Settings page.
Crypto
This section shows an overview of the available crypto-currencies. All of these can be configured separately: amongst other settings, the administrator can set the internal reference price and spread parameters, transaction limits, blockchain analysis tools and mining fees. Should you need additional crypto-currencies, feel free to contact us and we will help you achieve your goal.
NOTE
If a crypto's hot wallet is managed by Nexus, its details will be shown here.
Payment methods
Payment methods are the link between the fiat and crypto currencies worlds, allowing the exchange of value between these. For each crypto-currency/token, you will see a list with the available payment methods (both for buy and sell operations) and you will be able to also define the preferences regarding each one of them, such as the delivery security limitations, the transaction fees and the technical settings like call-back URL. Moreover, it is possible to set additional options including banking fees (both fixed and percental) to cover the costs of the payment processor/bank and a service fee representing the brokering margin.
To allow even further customization, it is possible to personalize the service fees depending on the country, customer tag or specific individual customers.
When supplied, the payment method will only be valid for the crypto defined. Similarly, when supplied, the payment method will only be valid for the currency defined.
Exchanges
Exchanges are an essential part to allow trading through Nexus, and in this section you will be able to manage the existing ones and add new ones if necessary. For each exchange you can optionally set the API keys and secrets to take advantage of the automated creation and management of crypto orders and transfers on the exchange offered by Nexus.
In addition to the API key and secret, additional settings can be defined:
- Bitstamp: Owner Id, which should contain the unique number of the Bitstamp account owner;
- Kraken: in the Agreement Info field the option “Agreed” need to be selected to comply with German regulatory processes.
NOTE
Once an exchange is added to the list, it can only be disabled but not deleted.
Tradepairs
In Nexus, tradepairs are a combination of a trading exchange (e.g. Bitstamp), a crypto-currency (e.g. Bitcoin) and a fiat currency (e.g. Euro). In this view you will be able to manage which are currently active and supported by your service through Nexus. Depending on how many instances of these three elements are enabled in your application, different combinations will be possible.
NOTE
Once a tradepair is added to the list, it can only be disabled but not deleted.
Exchange reserves
This section of the settings allows the administrator to define which fiat and crypto currencies Nexus should monitor regarding the actual reserves on specific exchanges. The table also shows the timestamp of the most recent reserve update in Nexus (typically less than 30 seconds old).
NOTE
Once an exchange reserve is defined it cannot be removed (only disabled).
Trust levels
Trust levels are an useful tool that helps the operators regarding compliance and security, and they should be defined according to your business. They are used to limit the maximum Buy and Sell volumes for customers (per day, month or lifetime) and can be managed by the administrator.
